Put a riser on a septic tank so it’s above ground, and you won’t be charged to have the lid dug up every time the septic needs pumping. Then cover it with an eye-pleasing rock.

The rocks should be set on mulch so that they cannot freeze as easily to the ground, making winter servicing a simple task.
